Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has shared his perspective on cannabis, commonly known as weed, stating he does not regard it as a hard drug.
He made this remark while discussing his foundation’s upcoming donation to orphanages and efforts to combat drug abuse on the latest episode of The Morning Hustle podcast.
Addressing criticisms from those who consider him hypocritical for fighting against drug abuse while smoking weed, Davido clarified, “This year, I’m donating to the fight against drug abuse among youths. I don’t count weed as a hard drug. Some people are saying I smoke weed but I don’t count weed as a drug.”
Davido highlighted the growing issue of drug addiction, saying, “A lot of people have been going through a lot recently. Drug addiction is becoming rampant. So I want to donate to that cause to help them quit.”
