Former Real Madrid attacking midfielder Rafael van der Vaart has expressed that Real Madrid is the club every player dreams of playing for.
According to him, even players from Los Blancos’ arch-rivals, Barcelona, aspire to be part of Real Madrid, though he admits he doesn’t know the exact reason why.
Van der Vaart, who is a former Netherlands international, spent two seasons at Real Madrid, scoring 12 goals in 73 appearances. “Real Madrid is the club everyone wants to play for. I don’t know what it is about them, but it’s much more than Barcelona,” he said in an interview with TalkSport.
He added, “Every player in the world, including those from FC Barcelona, wants to play for Real Madrid. I am 100% sure.”
During his time with Real Madrid, Van der Vaart won the Supercopa de España but missed out on securing a LaLiga title.
