Nigerian stand-up comedian Bovi Ugboma has expressed his opposition to beating children as a means of correction.
In a recent episode of ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast, Bovi emphasized that children should not be subjected to physical punishment, regardless of their behavior.
“I don’t advocate for beating children. You should let children be. When you hit a kid, are you really trying to correct them or are you frustrated?” he said.
The comedian also criticized the practice of senior students punishing junior colleagues in primary and secondary schools. “No child should be given authority over another child in the name of ‘senior student’. It really has to stop,” he declared.
