Lady Mina Horsfall, former beauty queen and Nollywood actress, has joined the celebration for the newly crowned Miss Africa International 2024, Tubosoye Karibi-George.
Horsfall expressed her joy, saying that Tubosoye has made Nigeria proud on the world stage.
Tubosoye, hailing from the Kalabari Kingdom, clinched the title after outshining her competitors in the pageant. She is set to arrive in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, for a celebratory reception in her honour.
In a congratulatory message from Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, Horsfall commended Tubosoye for her achievement. She noted that in 2001, Agbani Darego, another Kalabari native, became the first black African Miss World, highlighting the kingdom’s legacy in producing exceptional beauty queens.
Horsfall said, “I am thrilled to celebrate you on your homecoming. You have made Nigeria proud on the global stage. I urge the people of Rivers State to welcome our Queen and encourage the state government to recognize her as a Worthy Ambassador. She will serve as an inspiration to young women.”
She also encouraged the new queen to use her title to make a positive impact by showcasing the beauty and strength of African women.
