Cubana Chief Priest has claimed that his ongoing conflict with Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, is rooted in jealousy.
The two have exchanged heated words on social media over the past few weeks.
The socialite’s feud with the Afrofusion star escalated after Burna Boy had fellow singer Speed Darlington arrested. Speaking on Channels Television’s Rubbin Minds on Sunday, Chief Priest said that Burna Boy’s actions were motivated by envy over his relationship with singer David Adeleke, known as Davido.
“My whole issue with Burna Boy started because he was jealous of my relationship with Davido,” he stated. “He wanted CP by his side, but I chose to work with Davido. Me and Davido have never discussed anything about Burna Boy,” he said during the interview.
“Davido isn’t the kind of person who would use his time to discuss his colleagues. It’s always them imagining things and trying to drag us into it,” Chief Priest added.
Speed Darlington was arrested for allegedly suggesting that Burna Boy had an illicit relationship with embattled American music executive Diddy in an attempt to win a Grammy.
