Sean Carter, famously known as Jay-Z, has set a new record as the most-awarded rapper in Grammy history.
The New York legend reached this milestone at the 67th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday by securing his 25th award, thus surpassing Kanye West, who holds 24 Grammy awards.
Jay-Z earned the prestigious accolade for his contribution to Beyoncé’s ‘Cowboy Carter,’ which won Album of the Year. According to Grammy rules, all major contributors to an album are credited as winners in this category.
This victory marks Beyoncé’s first-ever win for Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards. Interestingly, Jay-Z had previously criticized the Recording Academy’s judgment, highlighting that despite Beyoncé being the most-awarded artist in Grammy history, she had never won in this category until now.
