Trump Rules Out Deporting Prince Harry Amid Immigration Controversy

Date:

Prince Harry can breathe easily in Montecito, as President Donald Trump has ruled out deporting the self-exiled British royal.

Harry’s immigration status is currently under scrutiny in Washington, D.C., with the Heritage Foundation alleging that he may have concealed past illegal drug use, which should have disqualified him from obtaining a U.S. visa.

However, in an interview with The New York Post on Friday, Trump stated that he has no intention of expelling Harry from the country. “I don’t want to do that,” he said. “I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible.”

Trump also took the opportunity to praise Harry’s estranged older brother, Prince William, with whom he met privately in Paris during the reopening ceremony of Notre-Dame Cathedral in December. “I think William is a great young man,” he said.

The Duke of Sussex and his liberal American wife, Meghan Markle, have been vocal critics of Trump over the years, with Markle once calling the president “divisive” and “misogynistic.” In turn, Trump has described Harry as being “whipped” by Markle, stating, “I think poor Harry is being led around by the nose.”
