President Donald Trump of the United States convened his cabinet for the first time since returning to the White House.
The meeting included Elon Musk, head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), along with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and Attorney General Pam Bondi, among others.
During the meeting, Trump emphasized his commitment to balancing the budget and restoring fiscal discipline. He introduced Musk to the cabinet, praising his efforts and acknowledging the challenges he faces.
Musk addressed the cabinet, highlighting the critical mission of the DOGE team to tackle the nation’s substantial deficit. He warned that the current trajectory is unsustainable and could lead to the country’s de facto bankruptcy. “It’s not an optional thing, it’s an essential thing,” Musk stated.
