On Wednesday afternoon, legendary actor Gene Hackman, his wife Betsy Arakawa, and their dog were discovered deceased in their New Mexico residence.
Denise Avila, the Public Information Officer for the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office, confirmed this news to ABC on Thursday morning.
The couple’s bodies were found during a welfare check initiated after a concerned neighbor reported their wellbeing.
Hackman, 95, was an Academy Award-winning actor renowned for his roles in iconic films such as “The French Connection,” “The Conversation,” and “The Royal Tenenbaums,” among many other Hollywood classics.
Authorities stated that there is no initial evidence of foul play in the deaths of Hackman and his wife.
