Nigerian crossdresser and internet personality, Idris Okunneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has revealed the genesis of his recent troubles with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). According to him, his ordeal began after accepting the Best Dressed Female award at a movie premiere hosted by Nollywood actress, Eniola Ajao.
Bobrisky, who has been in the spotlight for various controversies, recently faced public scrutiny following allegations that he bribed Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) officials to receive preferential treatment while serving a jail sentence for naira abuse. Viral audio clips suggested he paid for special conditions during his detention.
The saga escalated when EFCC operatives arrested Bobrisky at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos as he attempted to board a KLM flight to Amsterdam. In a dramatic turn of events, the crossdresser posted a plea for help on his social media platforms, stating, “Nigerians, help me, EFCC just arrested me. I’m badly injured.”
Following his arrest, Bobrisky was transported to the EFCC headquarters in Abuja for questioning over allegations of bribing EFCC officials to drop earlier money laundering charges.
In a post on his Instagram page, Bobrisky reflected on the events leading to his current predicament, linking it to his decision to accept the Best Dressed Female award. He wrote:
“My problem started from when I collected best dressed female with N1 million price. For my life if I see award for best dressed female I go disappear from that location.
