A van driver tragically lost his life when a tree fell on his vehicle during Storm Darragh, as fierce winds and heavy rain battered the UK.
Gusts reaching up to 93mph hit some regions earlier on Saturday, causing significant disruption in south Wales, western England, and Northern Ireland, with numerous train services and flights cancelled.
The Met Office issued a red warning for parts of Wales and south-west England, which ended at 11:00 GMT on Saturday. However, an amber warning for strong winds remains in effect through the evening.
Throughout the day, hundreds of thousands of homes across the country lost power, with more than 1,000 engineers working to restore supply. Despite their efforts, many homes are still without electricity.
