Ademola Lookman has expressed his honor at joining the prestigious list of legends who have won the CAF Player of the Year award.
The Nigerian international is also committed to setting a good example for others to follow. “For us to be able to inspire young kids who want to be like us is the most important thing. If we can set a good example, they have good footsteps to follow,” Lookman was quoted by CAFonline.
The 27-year-old made history as the sixth Nigerian to win the CAF Men’s Player of the Year award in Marrakech, Morocco, on Monday night.
Lookman had a special message for his fans, thanking them for their support. “I am very appreciative of your love and care, and kind words in the bad moments also, not just the good moments.
“The people who show you love in the difficult moments are the ones you are most grateful to,” he added.
