American rapper Wiz Khalifa has shared his belief that couples should date for at least 10 years before getting married.
The father of two explained that a decade-long dating period allows couples to better understand each other and their families before making the commitment.
In a recent episode of the Club Shay Shay podcast, Wiz said, “People should date for 10 years before getting married because that’s long enough to know the person, their family, and who you’re going to deal with when you move in together.”
When asked whether couples should live together before marriage or wait until after they are wed, the 37-year-old responded, “It depends on the situation and the circumstances. Some people move in right away and still need time to figure it out. If you don’t move in right away, you’ll learn that there’s one version of the person when you’re not sharing things and a different version when you are.”
Wiz Khalifa married model Amber Rose on July 8, 2013, the same year they welcomed a son together. In September 2014, Amber filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences, and their marriage was legally dissolved in 2016.
Wiz is currently in a five-year relationship with his girlfriend, Aimee Aguilar, with whom he recently welcomed a daughter.
