Nollywood actress Kiitan Bukola has shared her fears about getting married during the latest episode of the ‘Talk to B’ podcast. The actress revealed that she never experienced the love and care of a father.
Reflecting on her childhood, she explained that her fear stems from a desire to provide her children with a stable and loving home, something she never had. “I didn’t have a father who cared for me the way I wanted. I never experienced the love of a father and mother together, and it hurts me a lot,” she said.
Bukola shared that she never lived with both parents, and she doesn’t even know some of her father’s children because they are close to fourteen in number.
“I have friends who have faced many challenges in their marriages, and some who have enjoyed it. I don’t want to have children out of wedlock. I want my children to experience fatherly care,” she added.
While Bukola loves the idea of marriage, she also fears it. She doesn’t want her children to grow up without a father’s care or in a divided home. Her ideal partner is someone very understanding and prayerful. She emphasized the importance of having a partner who can differentiate between her job and their home life.
“I once dated someone who would tell me to return money for a job on a day I was supposed to be on set,” she recounted.
Bukola announced her engagement in November 2022, but the relationship ended two months later due to alleged infidelity.
