It’s official: Cardi B and Offset are over. The rap superstar confirmed the news during a recent Instagram live session, where she told her 169 million followers that she has been single for a while now.
The WAP hitmaker filed for divorce from the Migos member in September, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple, who secretly tied the knot in 2017, share a two-year-old daughter named Kulture.
No More Drama
Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Almanzar, said she decided to end the marriage after realizing that she was unhappy and tired of the drama. She denied that Offset, whose real name is Kiari Cephus, cheated on her again, as he did in the past.
“I just got tired of f—ing arguing. I got tired of not seeing things eye to eye,” she said. “Nothing crazy out of this world happened. Sometimes people really do f—ing grow apart.”
She also shut down rumors that she filed for divorce to get attention or promote her upcoming album. She said she doesn’t need any gimmicks to sell her music, because she’s already successful.
“I don’t need any stunts, I don’t need any drama. I don’t need anything,” she said. “I’m okay, I want to let you guys know I have not shed one tear.”
Ready for a New Beginning
Cardi B, who recently celebrated her 28th birthday in Las Vegas and Atlanta with Offset and other friends, said she is looking forward to a new chapter in her life. She said she is curious about what the future holds for her, and that she is open to new experiences and opportunities.
“I’m single, I’m so happy,” she said. “I’m just excited for a new life, for a new beginning.”
She also thanked her fans for their love and support, and said she is grateful for everything that has happened to her. She said she has no regrets, and that she is proud of herself for being strong and independent.
