Shreyas Talpade battles for life after shooting for ‘Welcome to the Jungle’
In a shocking turn of events, Bollywood actor Shreyas Talpade was rushed to the hospital after he complained of chest pain and breathlessness on the sets of his upcoming film ‘Welcome to the Jungle’. The actor, who is known for his roles in films like ‘Iqbal’, ‘Om Shanti Om’ and ‘Golmaal 3’, suffered a massive heart attack and had to undergo an emergency angioplasty.
Shreyas was shooting for a high-octane action sequence in the dense forests of Kerala, when he collapsed on the ground. His co-stars and crew members immediately called for an ambulance and took him to the nearest hospital. The doctors diagnosed him with a blocked artery and performed an angioplasty to restore the blood flow to his heart.
Shreyas is currently in the intensive care unit and his condition is said to be stable but critical. His wife Deepti Talpade, who is a psychiatrist, flew down from Mumbai to be by his side. She thanked the fans and the media for their prayers and support and requested them to respect their privacy in this difficult time.
Shreyas’s film ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ is a comedy-adventure directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Karan Johar. The film also stars Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn in pivotal roles. The film is slated to release in 2024 and is expected to be a blockbuster.
