NDLEA declares ex-beauty queen wanted for dealing in Illicit drugs

Date:

She was once crowned as Miss Commonwealth Nigeria Culture 2015/2016, but now she is on the run from the law. Ms. Aderinoye Queen Christmas, also known as Ms. Queen Oluwadamilola Aderinoye, has been declared wanted by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for dealing in illicit substances.

The NDLEA raided her apartment at Oral estate, Lekki, Lagos on Wednesday 24th January 2024, following credible intelligence that she was involved in drug trafficking. However, she managed to escape before the operatives arrived, leaving behind a trail of evidence that exposed her criminal activities.

According to the NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, the items recovered from her home include 606 grams of Canadian Loud, a synthetic strain of cannabis, an electronic weighing scale, large quantities of drugs packing plastics, a black RAV 4 SUV, and her picture frame.

The former beauty queen, who is also the founder of the Queen Christmas Foundation, a charity organization that claims to empower women and children, has been living a double life as a drug dealer. She is suspected to be part of an international drug trafficking syndicate that operates in Nigeria and other countries.

The NDLEA has urged the public to provide any information that could lead to her arrest and prosecution. The agency has also arrested several other members of the syndicate, including a Brazil returnee who ingested 60 big wraps of cocaine, and two men who were preparing to smuggle drugs to Qatar.

This is not the first time that a beauty queen has been linked to drug crimes in Nigeria. In 2018, a former Miss Nigeria, Anita Uwagbale-Iseghohi, was arrested by the NDLEA for allegedly being in possession of 2.5 kilograms of cocaine at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

The NDLEA has vowed to intensify its efforts to curb the menace of drug abuse and trafficking in the country, and to bring all offenders to justice. The agency has also warned the public, especially the youth, to stay away from drugs and live a healthy and productive life.
