Atiku Abubakar Blasts Tinubu for Abandoning Nigeria in the Face of Insecurity

Date:

The People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) flagbearer in the last presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, has slammed President Bola Tinubu for his gross negligence and incompetence in handling the security crisis that is plaguing the country.

Atiku, who served as the Vice President of Nigeria from 1999 to 2007, expressed his outrage and dismay over the recent spate of kidnappings and killings that have claimed the lives of innocent Nigerians across the nation.

He cited the horrific examples of a nursing mother and her mum who were brutally murdered in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) after failing to pay a whopping N90m ransom, and two revered monarchs who were assassinated in cold blood in Ekiti State. The former VP questioned the President’s sense of duty and patriotism, as he jetted off to France on a mysterious private visit, leaving behind a nation in turmoil and terror.

In a scathing post on his official X formally [Twitter] handle, Atiku wrote, “Tinubu is playing fiddle while Nigeria is drowning in the ocean of insecurity. How can the Commander-in-Chief abandon his post and flee to a foreign land, while his people are being slaughtered like animals?

“While he is enjoying the comforts and luxuries of France, kidnappers are having a field day in Abuja, bandits are ravaging the North, and militants are terrorizing the South. Is this the kind of leadership that Nigerians deserve?

“If the shoes are too big for Emilokan, he should step aside. Nigeria does not need another Tourist-in-Chief. The country needs 24/7 leadership to confront the pervasive insecurity and collapsing economy.”

Atiku urged Nigerians to rise up and demand accountability and good governance from their leaders, saying that the country cannot afford to continue on this path of doom and gloom. He vowed to continue to speak up for the masses and fight for the restoration of peace and prosperity in Nigeria.
