Anthony Joshua has sworn to “make a statement” and deliver a knockout blow to Francis Ngannou in Friday’s crossover mega-fight in Saudi Arabia.
Joshua is on a roll with a three-fight winning streak and climbing back towards the world title picture, after crushing Otto Wallin in a dominant five-round win in December.
AJ is bracing for a different challenge against Ngannou in their non-title clash, having seen the mixed martial arts star give Tyson Fury a run for his money in his professional boxing debut last October, but is eager to show off his skills again. “I know I can knock him out,” Joshua exclusively told Sky Sports. “Absolutely. I would love to knock him out and make a statement.
“Physically I feel strong, feeling good. Strong enough to get the job done and mentally I’m in a place where I’m ready for war. I’m excited for the challenge.
“Mentally I don’t stress too much about my opponent and look at what my opponent can bring to me and think, ‘how can I beat these challenges they pose?’ I work really hard to improve my game and look forward to showing everything I’ve worked on.”
