VfL Wolfsburg have officially announced the termination of Nico Kovac’s contract as head coach, following a series of underwhelming performances that yielded only two victories in the last thirteen matches. The former Bayern Munich manager’s tenure has been concluded with immediate effect.
The decision to part ways with Kovac came after a particularly disappointing run of results, culminating in only two victories in the last thirteen matches.
Marcel Schäfer, representing the club’s management, expressed a blend of regret and necessity in this decision “We regret this development but regard it as necessary to give the team a new impulse, in order to stabilise the situation. We’d like to express our thanks to Niko Kovac, his brother Robert as well as Aaron Briggs, and wish them all the best in their personal and professional lives.”
