US Presidential Election: The Rock Declines to Back Biden

Date:

Dwayne Johnson, popularly known as The Rock, has decided not to support President Joe Biden for re-election. The actor and wrestler had previously endorsed Biden in the 2022 election.

In a recent interview with Fox News, The Rock made his stance clear. He said, “Will I endorse Biden again this year? The answer is no. I’ve come to realize that I won’t be doing that for this election.”

When asked about his views on the current state of America, he responded, “Am I satisfied with how things are in America right now? No, I’m not. But do I believe we can improve? Yes, I do. I’m an optimist at heart and I believe we have the potential to do better.”

Reflecting on his past endorsement of Biden, he said, “The decision to endorse Biden years ago was what I believed was the best for me at that time. I thought, ‘I’m in a position where I can influence others,’ and it was my responsibility then to use that influence and share my endorsement.”

Johnson, who has expressed his desire to unify the country, was quick to clarify that he would keep his political views private. “My vote is a matter between me and the ballot box. Like many Americans who are skeptical of politicians, I place my trust in the American people. Whoever they choose as president will have my full support,” he stated.

It’s worth noting that back in September 2020, Johnson had endorsed Biden and his running mate, Kamala Harris.
