Edo State Government Refutes Allegations of Suing Oba of Benin Over Enigie Suspension

Date:

The Edo State Government has dismissed allegations that it is involved in a legal dispute before the State High Court, questioning the authority of the Benin Monarch, Oba Ewuare II, to suspend Enigie (Dukes of the Kingdom).

The denial was made in a statement by Mr. Crusoe Osagie, the Special Adviser on Media Projects to the Governor. He stated, “The Edo State Government is not involved in any legal proceedings against our esteemed Royal Father, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, the Oba of Benin.

The rumor circulating on social media about a forthcoming court case is the work of state adversaries and should be ignored.

“In fact, in the case being referred to by the spreaders of this false news, the Edo State Government is a defendant, indicating that the State government is the one being sued. The State Government maintains a friendly relationship with the Royal Palace and holds Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, Ogidigan, in high regard.

“The rumor is contrived, false, and should be completely disregarded. It’s election season again, and saboteurs are active.

“The State Government is dedicated to maintaining a peaceful relationship with all stakeholders in the State and will always strive to foster good relations with all key institutions in society as part of its duty to maintain a stable environment for the State’s growth and progress.”
