Senator Natasha Denounces Kidnapping of Students at Confluence University

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has expressed her disapproval of the recent attack on the Confluence University of Science and Technology, CUSTECH, Osara, terming it as intolerable.

According to reports, bandits invaded the school on Thursday night, abducting several students who were preparing for their upcoming semester examination.

In a statement released on Friday, Natasha called for enhanced security measures throughout Kogi State. She described the attack as “regrettable and intolerable,” emphasizing that innocent students should not be victims of such atrocious acts. She insisted that educational institutions must be safeguarded from such attacks and called on security agencies to ensure the students’ safe return and bring the culprits to justice.

The senator pledged her support and assistance to facilitate the safe return of the students and highlighted the necessity for strategies to prevent similar incidents in the future.

As per the university’s released information, the attack took place around 8:23 pm on Thursday, May 9th. Gunmen attacked the university, located in the Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State, and kidnapped an unspecified number of students who were studying for their first-semester examinations.
