Date:

Mauricio Pochettino has left Chelsea by mutual consent after less than 11 months in charge. According to the report Mauricio Pochettino left Chelsea over disagreements over transfers and who should be sold.

The Argentinian manager, who joined Chelsea in July 2023, had a year left on his two-year contract. Despite a difficult start plagued by injuries, Chelsea secured European football with a sixth-placed finish in the Premier League.

Pochettino’s departure comes after a late charge, winning their final five league games.

Sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley expressed gratitude for his service.“On behalf of everyone at Chelsea, we’d like to express our gratitude to Mauricio for his service this season. He’ll be welcome back to Stamford Bridge any time and we wish him all the very best in his future coaching career.

“The Club is now well positioned to keep moving forward in the Premier League and Europe in the years to come”.

Chelsea fans will now await the outcome of the FA Cup final between Manchester City and Manchester United to determine their European competition next season.
