Lateef Adedimeji Unveils His 2014 Film Role Compensation

Date:

Lateef Adedimeji, a renowned Nigerian actor and director, found himself in a situation where he was receiving less compensation than expected for his leading roles in films.

Despite this, Adedimeji viewed this period as a valuable learning experience.

Adedimeji, known for his performance in ‘Jagun Jagun’, disclosed that his remuneration for a major role in 2014 was a mere N4,000, a decade ago.

He further revealed that it was only in 2015 that his earnings for a film role increased to a range of N100,000 to N200,000.

During the latest episode of the ‘Deep Dive’ podcast, hosted by comedian Teju Babyface, Adedimeji shared his experiences.

He expressed, “Many would find it hard to believe that I didn’t start earning N100,000 or N200,000 until around 2015/16. Prior to that, the most I received for a lead role was N4,000, N5,000, or at most N10,000. My low earnings in 2014 were reflective of the learning phase I was going through.”
