Netflix Secures 50 Cent’s Documentary Series on Assault Accusations Against Diddy

Date:

Netflix, the renowned streaming service, has recently secured the rights to broadcast a multi-episode documentary series.

This series delves into the numerous sexual assault allegations leveled against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, a prominent US rapper and entrepreneur.

The distribution rights to the streaming platform were sold by American rapper 50 Cent. Diddy has been under public scrutiny since last November when multiple women, including his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, filed lawsuits alleging sexual assault.

Diddy’s former producer, Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, also lodged a lawsuit, accusing the rapper of sexual harassment, drugging, and threats spanning over a year.

In a significant development in March, two properties associated with Diddy were raided by the United States Department of Homeland Security.

50 Cent has been vocal on social media about the allegations against Diddy, even reposting a viral video from March 5, 2016, showing his colleague assaulting Cassie.

In a recent Instagram post, 50 Cent announced that his ongoing project has officially found a platform. He revealed that Netflix emerged victorious in a bidding war involving several networks and streaming platforms for the rights to the docuseries.

He humorously commented on TMZ using an unflattering picture of him because their documentary went to Tubi, adding that while everyone is making good television, his happens to be the best. He also hinted at the possibility of needing more episodes if more victims continue to come forward.

The title and release date of the docuseries are yet to be disclosed.

Diddy first made the news in November 2023 when Cassie accused him of rape, abuse, and human trafficking during their decade-long relationship. However, the lawsuit was settled out of court a day after it was filed.

Following his case with Cassie, Diddy faced another sexual assault lawsuit filed in the Manhattan supreme court. Joi Dickerson-Neal, a woman from Syracuse University, accused Diddy of drugging and raping her in 1991. On the same day, a third woman accused the rapper of sexual assault, alleging that Diddy and singer-songwriter Aaron Hall alternately raped her and a friend in New York City over 30 years ago.

In December, a fourth victim accused Diddy of sexual assault. A woman alleged that Diddy, Harve Pierre, the former president of Bad Boy Entertainment, and a third person were involved in sex trafficking and gang rape when she was 17.

On February 26, Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, a former producer and videographer for Diddy, filed a lawsuit alleging sexual harassment and drugging by the rapper.
