Tinubu Flags Off Construction of Lagos-Calabar Highway

President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Lagos to flag off the construction of the Lagos-Calabar highway. The president was received by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos, and other government officials at the Murtala Muhammed Airport.

The project is a significant infrastructure development that aims to connect nine coastal states.

The highway is estimated to cost about N15 trillion and is expected to enhance transportation and economic connectivity in the regionSection Two of the highway has already been awarded to Hitech Construction Limited.

Dave Umahi, minister of work, said the Tinubu will kick off the road’s construction on May 26.

Olusegun Dada, special assistant on social media to the president, said Tinubu will inaugurate some projects ahead of his first anniversary in office.

At a meeting with a delegation of Yoruba leaders of thought at the State House in Abuja, Tinubu said his administration will do all it takes for the average Nigerian to feel the impact of governance.

He said the country is no longer “bleeding” but moving into prosperity, adding that the last 12 months of his administration have been “fulfilling”, despite some challenges.
