Nancy Isime Addresses Controversy Over Her New Film with Composure and Transparency

Date:

In the wake of demands to prohibit her forthcoming film, renowned Nigerian actress Nancy Isime has finally spoken out.

A few days ago, Isime unveiled a poster for her new film, “Blood Brothers,” in which she is depicted in a niqab, brandishing a firearm.

The poster sparked a wave of criticism from the Muslim community on social media. Outraged by Isime’s portrayal in a niqab during a robbery scene in the film, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) urged the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) to ban the contentious film on Wednesday.

Nevertheless, Isime responded indirectly through a series of Instagram posts, underscoring her commitment to peace and personal objectives.

She expressed, “I’m truly detached. Living in my own universe. No drama or gossip. Just goals and wealth. Peace is my sanctuary.

“I don’t disturb anyone, and I’m undisturbed by anyone. To safeguard my tranquility, I’ve stopped taking others’ projected opinions personally.

“Remember: Your radiance often exposes others’ insecurities and deficiencies, which they then reflect back onto you as a defect. It’s a defense mechanism. Criticizing you makes them feel more secure.

“Isime baby, omo ologo 5g. The most luminous light. The city on a hill that can never be concealed. Nancy Isime. A powerful name with a powerful force. Being the subject of discussion doesn’t unsettle me. Consider who’s doing the talking.”
