Manchester United on the Verge of Signing Bayern Munich’s Noussair Mazraoui

Date:

Manchester United are nearing a deal to acquire Bayern Munich’s right-back, Noussair Mazraoui, with the transfer fee set between £15 million and £20 million. However, the completion of this transfer hinges on United’s ability to offload Aaron Wan-Bissaka to finance the move.

Mazraoui, who had been poised to join West Ham, saw that deal collapse, prompting the east London club to shift their attention to Wan-Bissaka. United and West Ham still need to agree on a suitable price for the 26-year-old right-back. Initially, West Ham had settled on a £12.6 million upfront fee with Bayern Munich, accompanied by £2.3 million in potential add-ons.

Mazraoui’s connection to United’s manager, Erik ten Hag, who coached him at Ajax, makes this move particularly appealing. Ten Hag is determined to bolster both full-back positions but needs to generate funds through player sales first. United’s initial asking price of around £20 million for Wan-Bissaka had previously deterred interest from Turkish side Galatasaray.

Manchester United’s strategy will be critical in balancing the squad’s needs with financial prudence, ensuring that they can secure Mazraoui’s services without jeopardizing their financial stability.
