Galatasaray Fans Give Victor Osimhen a Hero’s Welcome in Istanbul

Date:

Thousands of Galatasaray fans thronged Istanbul Airport in the early hours of Monday to greet Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen, as he arrived for his much-anticipated loan move from Napoli. Despite his arrival at 3:30 am, the passionate supporters filled the terminal, their excitement undimmed by the late hour.

As Osimhen stepped out, he was met with an electrifying atmosphere, with fans chanting his name and singing in unison. The 25-year-old Nigerian striker appeared visibly thrilled, soaking in the adoration as the crowd celebrated his arrival. This warm reception highlighted the fans’ deep admiration for the player and set the tone for his time at the Turkish club.

Osimhen’s move to Galatasaray, finalised after the European transfer window closed, is a significant boost for the Turkish side. The club has committed to covering his €10 million salary, reportedly paying €8.8 million, with a break clause included in the deal for January, allowing top clubs to potentially bid for him.

The excitement surrounding Osimhen’s arrival was palpable, with fans waiting through the night just to catch a glimpse of their new star. On Tuesday morning, he is scheduled to undergo medical tests, a crucial step before officially joining Galatasaray’s Europa League squad.

This move marks a new chapter in Osimhen’s career, and if the reception at the airport is any indication, the Galatasaray faithful are ready to support him every step of the way.
