FUNAAB Student Christiana Idowu Kidnapped & Murdered

Date:

Christiana Idowu, a student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, was kidnapped and murdered by her abductor in Lagos State. The Student Union Government president, Ibrahim Adeyemi, confirmed the incident, stating that the union would address the matter soon. Christiana was abducted while traveling to the University of Lagos for her industrial training and was later found dead despite her family paying a ransom of N350,000 to the abductors.

Intelligence operatives used the Bank Verification Number (BVN) and account details to track the abductor, tracing the suspect to a location in Ikorodu, Lagos State, where Christiana’s family also resides. The operatives discovered a mutual relationship between the suspect and Christiana, and further investigation led them to the suspect’s parent’s house.

Efforts to reach the victim’s family and the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, were unsuccessful. The incident highlights the growing concern of kidnapping and murder in Nigeria, and the need for increased security measures to protect citizens.

The tragic event has sparked outrage and calls for justice on social media, with many users demanding action from the authorities to bring the perpetrators to book. The case is a reminder of the dangers faced by students and young people in Nigeria, and the need for collective efforts to ensure their safety and security.
