Ngozi Okobi, midfielder for the Super Falcons, has announced the birth of her first child. The talented footballer shared the joyful news on social media on Tuesday, expressing gratitude and excitement about her new role as a mother.
Okobi had kept her pregnancy journey private, rarely sharing updates on social media. Instead, she continued to post videos of her gym sessions and casual photos, giving no hint of her expecting a child. She tied the knot with her husband, Okeoghene, on December 9, 2017, in Delta State, and remarkably continued playing professional football for almost seven years before welcoming their child.
A seasoned international player, Okobi has represented Nigeria in various tournaments, including the U-17 and U-20 Women’s World Cups, the WAFCON, and the FIFA Women’s World Cup. Her impressive career spans over a decade, with notable appearances in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, and 2022. Although she was excluded from the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup squad, Okobi remains a respected figure in Nigerian football.
