First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has donated N500 million to support individuals affected by the recent flood disaster in Maiduguri, Borno State. The donation was announced during a sympathy visit to Governor Babagana Zulum on Wednesday.
Represented by Nana Kashim Shettima, wife of the Vice President, Tinubu presented the funds to Governor Zulum, extending her prayers to those impacted by the disaster. She praised the state government for its efforts in addressing the crisis and reaffirmed the commitment of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) to continue supporting the youth and women in Borno.
Tinubu, who chairs the RHI, was accompanied by the wives of several state governors, ministers, and female members of the National Assembly during her visit.
In response, Governor Zulum expressed his gratitude for the First Lady’s generosity, highlighting how the RHI has empowered women and vulnerable populations across the state. He also noted that President Bola Tinubu had visited Maiduguri earlier in the week to show solidarity with the flood victims.
This contribution is part of a broader effort to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the devastating floods, further showcasing the administration’s commitment to humanitarian relief.
