Prince Secondus Warns APC’s Actions May Endanger 2027 Elections, Accuses Party of Destroying Democracy

Date:

Former PDP National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, has raised concerns about the future of Nigeria’s democracy, warning that the 2027 elections may not occur due to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)’s alleged destructive governance.

In a statement issued by his Media Adviser, Ike Abonyi, Secondus condemned the APC’s approach during the recent Edo State governorship election, which he described as “electoral fraud.” He emphasized that the APC is intent on silencing opposition and turning Nigeria into a one-party state.

Secondus also accused the Mahmoud Yakubu-led Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of failing to uphold democratic standards, citing mismanaged elections in Imo, Kogi, and Edo States.

Highlighting APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje’s claim of using the Edo election template for future polls, Secondus expressed fears that Nigeria’s democracy is being undermined, calling the situation a grave threat to future elections.

If such rigging and intimidation tactics continue, Secondus warns, Nigeria’s democratic system could crumble, leaving the country politically unstable.
