The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed the claims by Yiaga Africa regarding the recent Edo State governorship election. The party described the organisation’s findings as “unsubstantiated, unverified, and highly questionable,” suggesting they were aimed at creating confusion.
APC National Spokesperson, Felix Morka, expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for ensuring a fair election and praised INEC and security agencies for their professionalism. Morka reiterated that the election reflected the true will of the Edo people, who voted for Senator Monday Okpebholo as the next governor.
Morka stated, “The APC appreciates President Tinubu’s administration for ensuring a level playing field and thanks INEC and law enforcement agencies for their dedication during the election. The people of Edo have clearly chosen Senator Monday Okpebholo to lead the state into a new era of peace and development.”
In response to Yiaga Africa’s allegations of irregularities, the APC reminded aggrieved parties to resolve any disputes through the courts, as per the legal process.
Yiaga Africa had earlier criticized the election process, accusing collation officers of result manipulation. The organisation argued that the declared results lacked integrity.
