Selena Gomez Responds to Deportation Calls Amid ICE Raids

Date:

Popular US singer and actress Selena Gomez has responded to calls for her deportation following her emotional reaction to Trump’s ICE raids.

The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), along with other agencies, conducted nationwide raids on Sunday. On Monday, ICE reported that over 1,100 illegal immigrants were apprehended nationwide.

In a now-deleted video on her Instagram page, Gomez sympathized with those affected by the raids. While tearfully addressing the deportation of Mexicans, the 32-year-old, who has Mexican heritage, said, “I’m so sorry. All my people are getting attacked. The children, I don’t understand. I wish I could do something. I will try everything, I promise.”

In response, former US Senate candidate Sam Parker called for Gomez’s deportation. He stated, “Deport Selena Gomez. She picked illegals over America because she’s the 3rd gen descendant of Mexican illegals who received citizenship in the ’87 Amnesty. She has an entitlement attitude toward America, like her illegal parents. Maybe Selena should be deported, too?”

Reacting to the deportation call, the Grammy-winning singer wrote on her Instagram story, “Oh Mr. Parker, Mr. Parker. Thanks for the laugh and the threat.”
