Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, better known as Tems, recently opened up about her special bond with her mother.
The “Mr Rebel” singer shared that she has a unique relationship with her mother, revealing that they share everything. In an interview with ET at the 67th annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, Tems said, “What I have is hers [my mother’s]. We share everything I have.”
Reflecting on her Grammy win, Tems expressed her gratitude: “I’m grateful to God. I’m thankful. I think it’s a blessing. I’m extremely blessed and favored. I just want to give that out in any way that I can.”
Tems’ song “Love Me Jeje” won the Best African Music Performance award at the Grammys on Sunday. While accepting the award, she dedicated it to her mother.
The singer has previously shared that she and her brother were raised solely by their mother.
